Phil in North Carolina:

With the current economy being what it is and the decrease in funding of arts grants by the state legislature…. one of the ways you can support local artists is to purchase their goods and services… I would encourage all of you to attend the Weaverville Art Safari and especially the Preview Party… the Preview Party will be held at Claxton Farm in Weaverville (incredible facility-directions attached)… on Friday, May 6 beginning at 7:00 PM… the $10 admission get you a raffle ticket (additional available for purchase) for over 50 items, an incredible spread of hot and cold appetizers, and participation in one of the best ARTS SILENT AUCTIONS you will see….(oh, and a cash bar).. 46 artists will be represented… smart art collectors know this is one of the best silent auctions in the Asheville area…. on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday May 8 you can tour the studios of the 46 artists and purchase their works… this self guided tour is in beautiful north Buncombe County encompassing Weaverville and Barnardsville…. a map is included in the brochure (see attachments below)… I promise you will have a great time at both the Preview Party and the Safari…. enjoy Spring and the Arts…. and support our local artists…. great combination….. info at:
