Illustrators’ Night Out

The Bucks County Illustrators Society presents its first annual exhibit and sale, “Illustrators’ Night Out “ on Friday, November 4 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 the James-Lorah House, 132 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901. Local professional illustrators will be present to show original work and sell their children’s books, prints, holiday cards and textile designs. The artists attending include James Bennett, Ponder Goembel, Ric Brown, Deb Hoeffner, Lee Harper, Monika Hinterwaldner, Melissa Russell, Kate Maxwell, Glenn Zimmer, Rich Harrington, Kathie Jankauskas, Becca Klein, Pam Hamilton, Denise Callanan-Kline, Joe Tacynec, Jennifer Villareale and Pat Achilles. The event is free, parking is free at the Bucks County Parking Garage located 1 1/2 blocks down Broad Street, and Doylestown’s First Friday celebrations are also on tap this evening. EVENT: CANDIDA: George Bernard Shaw’s enchanting comedy takes to the Heritage Center stage. A clergyman competes for the affections of his wife with a young poet. Mort Paterson of Philadelphia directs Carol Thompson and George Hartpence, both of New Hope, in this stage classic. Co-starring Ray Fallon of Philadelphia; David Swartz of Ambler; Susan Blair of Philadelphia and Fred Halperin of Morristown, NJ. Stage managed by Amanda Graf of Morrisville. Set design by George Hartpence. Lighting Design by Andrena Wishnie of Morrisville. Costume design by Cheryl Doyle.

DATES: October 28 – November 13, 2011.

TIMES: Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

COMING DEC. 2 – 18: MY THREE ANGELS. Ed Patton directs Sam and Bella Spewack’s comic gem about how three French convicts on work release to a small town help bring justice and warmth to a beleaguered family.
