Karen in North Carolina:

My heart goes out to all the wonderful people who work to protect animals from human cruelty. Like my friend Sarah shared, remember, if you suspect someone is fighting dogs report them! The majority of dogs are not dangerous or mean, they are taught to be that way.

His name was Stallone. Rescued during a dogfighting raid, this pitbull terrier won the love of everyone around him.

Four great performances by Katherine Sandoval Taylor, one of my favorite local performers (and the last one also features Liz Aiello, another of my favorites):

* What Good Would The Moon Be (Street Scene)

* Never Neverland/Lost in the Stars

* The Grass Is Always Greener (Woman of the Year)

A very fitting tribute [the PS in last week’s issue]. Thank you for sharing the song.

Bill in Pennsylvania:

I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead…so I tuned in and watched the first episode of Hell on Wheels….it was good and I probably will watch again this week. I never got into watching either Breaking Bad or Mad Men (although both are highly acclaimed)….but I wonder when AMC decided to stop showing movies? Other cable channels have gone this route (the one hour series) such as FX and USA but you would think that a channel called AMC (American Movie Channel) would stick to showing movies. For that matter, you would think that a guy in advertising would have watched Mad Men!

100 Ways To Live A Better Life
by Dragos Roua

You don’t like your life? Change it! Change your life for the better! Don’t have any clue on how to do it? Here’s a list of 100 ways in which you can improve your life. Feel free to add yours in the comments. This post is a response from a challenge I got from from Mike King in this great post 100 Ways To Be A Better Leader, which in turn got inspired by this one Tackle Any Issue With A List Of 100 , from Luciano Passuello.

George in Pennsylvania:

EVERY career benefits when you speak better.

Eric in North Carolina:

Several economic reports I’ve reviewed in recent weeks have the same general consensus. Mortgage rates will be 1% higher by November 2012. Therefore, the payment on a $178,000 loan at 5% is the same as a payment on a $200,000 loan at 4%. With the overhang of foreclosures, home prices across the US are expected to fall another 3% to 4% by July 2012, but will then begin their long awaited recovery. From an affordablity perspective, we are at the bottom. Family formation has already recovered from it’s 2009 recession induced low. My question is, “Is NOW the time to buy?”

Check out this article and picture:

We actually SAW & TOUCHED this statue on Siesta Key beach on Oct. 25th! We went for our usual morning walk and there it was, just a bit north on the beach from where we entered. Unfortunately, we didn’t have our camera with us and didn’t think it was going to be such a big deal as to make the news. We’ve since seen a small picture and comment about it in the Nov. 14th issue of Time, so I finally decided to do a Google search and found the above site as well as several others. So fun!

Stan in North Carolina:

I think the movie [J. EDGAR] was great. It was hard to follow at times, seeing him young and then old but it was very well done.
