A Memorial Lecture for Harold Cohen and Ann Weir
Dr. Margaret Flowers is a nationally recognized health care activist who supports single payer, national health insurance. She is one of the Baucus 8 who disrupted the Senate Finance Committee hearing during the creation of the Obama health plan because they failed to consider single payer as an option. She has spoken on PBS’s Bill Moyers Journal, Democracy NOW and numerous progressive health events. Currently, she has organized NOW DC which supports people power to create a sustainable planet and to change the corporate influence on our politics.
Harold Cohen and Ann Weir were long time members of Health Care for All Philadelphia and ardent supporters of single payer health care. They passed away in 2011.

(4) I wanted to let you know the Aark Wildlife Rehab where I volunteer is having its Spring Open House on Saturday and Sunday, May 19th and 20th from 11 AM to 4 PM. The Aark is located in Chalfont, PA (just outside of Doylestown). I’m not sure what day I am working, but I wanted to let you know it’s a great opportunity for the family to see wildlife up close. We have a variety of animals (keepers who live there all the time, include bunnies, owls, hawks, peacock, guinea hens, etc.). Other animals you may see (depending upon who’s residing with us at the time) may include: racoons, deer, foxes, skunks, groundhogs, possums, ducks, various bird species, etc.).
Would love to see you there if you can join us. There’s a nominal fee to attend. There will be food, a silent auction and other memorabilia for purchase.
See link for more information and directions to the Aark.
