BLAINESWORLD #814, Section 12C (PA/NJ)

(1) Please join the students of the Upper Bucks Campus SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) team for “Bucks Wild! 2012.” They are staging this community concert event to celebrate end of the semester, to create stronger ties to our communities, and to raise money for some very worthwhile causes. Bucks Wild! will be held this Saturday, May 5th from 10 AM to 4 PM on the patio and amphitheatre at the Upper County campus. There will be nine local bands performing (including some Bucks student outfits), more than 30 local merchants offering food, crafts and services, and a moonbounce and face-painting for kids. Most importantly, we hope to raise money to fund the Club’s ongoing activities, the Navy SEAL Foundation and Last Chance Ranch, a local animal rescue group. Admission is free and a good time is guaranteed for all. Please come down and join us if you can.
Best regards,
Bruce Imber
Faculty Adviser, SIFE

(2) We did not get enough of a response to try to get Father Roy to come to Bucks County.  Father Roy will be in Cherry Hill, NJ on Saturday.

A Maryknoll Missionary priest since 1972, Fr. Roy Bourgeois became an outspoken critic of US policy in El Salvador in 1980 after four US churchwomen, two of them his friends, were raped and killed by Salvadoran soldiers trained by the SOA. He has spent over four years in US federal prisons for nonviolent protests against the training of Latin American soldiers at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Fr. Roy was the recipient of the 1997 Pax Christi USA Teacher of Peace Award and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He has faced censure by the Vatican and his own order for refusing to be silent concerning gender injustice in the Catholic Church.
