(1) The Autumn Players Readers Theatre Showcase presents:George Bernard Shaw’s “The Devil’s Disciple“
Shaw’s rousing tale is set during the clamor and shifting loyalties of the American Revolutionary War and addresses important topics such as hypocrisy, religious fealty and personal freedom. I take on the production’s title role alongside a stellar cast. This weekend only with performances 2:30pm on Friday 24 Aug & Saturday 25 Aug at ACT’s 35Below and 2:30pm on Sunday 26 Aug at UNCA’s Reuter Center.
Admission just $5 at the door.

(3) Jennifer Gatti: Hey everyone, I’m teaching an acting class this fall for AB Tech’s Continuing Education program. It’s called “Acting I” and it’s for beginners and/or people who haven’t taken class in a while and want to get back into some class work. I’ll be focusing on acting exercises, improv exercises, and monologue work. If I get more advanced people, I’ll let them do scene work. It’ll be fun and a great learning experience. Class will be on Tues nights from 6-8 and will run 9/18-10/23. Course is $95; what a deal! Tell your friends, or come to class yourself! Thanks!
(4) Maria M. in NC: The Basilica of St. Lawrence will hold a public forum on Friday, 9-7-12 at the Renaissance Asheville Hotel from 5-7 pm. Please try to attend and share this with friends and neighbors.
FYI, the McKibbon Group has misrepresented their project by showing a “park/piazza” ( where’d they get that?) on Basilica owned property.Hopefully all questions can be addressed at this event thus educating as many as possible before the public forum on Tuesday 9-11-12 at city council.I hope you’ll be able to attend and bring concerned friends. We will be having questions and answers at the end. Also as many as possible to attend the city council meeting on Tuesday 9-11-12 will be greatly appreciated as well. Please also try to attend that meeting as well.(5) Asheville Vaudeville at the Magnetic FieldAugust 30, 31 & September 1st, 8:00pm
