(2) Maria M. in NC:  Dear Friends and Family of Will Schierhorn,

The band’s fundraiser citrus fruit sale starts today and ends November 15th.
Wow!  What a difference a year brings in technology!
This is easy:  customers order fruit online at the following website:

* Kindly pay with a credit or debit card,
* Select  Will Schierhorn as the student to credit your purchase to
(he’s on a scroll down selection of students in the band)

* Choose to have your order to arrive WITH THE BAND’S ORDER and Will and I will deliver to you.
(You have the option for the fruit to come to your door via UPS but beware fruit is heavy,
so the postal cost will be expensive.)
* If you would like to buy fruit for the homeless at AHS, please do the above–
and let me know you are benefactors so I may put your name on appropriate card.
Will and I would like to write you a thank you note too!

* If we are “flooded with fruit” Will and I will take the fruit also to women’s shelter, or Vets shelter
* If you are out-of-state and would like to order fruit for yourselves, that is so kind of you,
I just don’t know how costly it will be for you with the UPS charge, so no pressure!!!

Thank you very, very much!
Maria & Will

Flat Rock, NC (10/30/2013) – Flat Rock Playhouse presents the action-packed adventure play, The Three Musketeers, from November 7 – 24 at the Flat Rock Playhouse Mainstage. The Three Musketeers is written by Ken Ludwig and adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

This adaptation, based on Alexandre Dumas’ timeless swashbuckling story, is a humorous tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes and above all, honor. The story, set in 1625, begins with d’Artagnan setting off for Paris in search of adventure. Along with d’Artagnan goes Sabine, his sister, who poses as a young mnan and quickly becomes entangled in her brother’s escapades. Soon after reaching Paris, d’Artagnan encounters the famous musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis. He joins forces with his heroes to defend the honor of the Queen of France. But along the way he must confront the most feared man in Europe, Cardinal Richelieu his henchman Rochefort, and the most dangerous foe of all, the infamous Countess de Winter who will stop at nothing to exact her revenge. This is an exciting and daring adventure for the whole family.

The show is directed by Playhouse Associate Artistic Director Lisa K. Bryant. Bryant recently directed Cats at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown. Fight choreography is by Michael MacCauley. Set design is by James W. Johnson. Lightning design is by Stephen Terry. Sound design is by Marc W. Fisher III.

Two cast members in The Three Musketeers were recently part of this past summer’s Apprentice Program and are now being cast in full company member roles for this production. Jeff Sundheim will be playing D’Artagnan and Catharine Kay will be playing Sabine.

For this production, the Playhouse has brought it many local actors, including regular performers at NC Stage in Asheville and Hendersonville Little Theatre.

Arrington, Dylan Henley, Robert Dale Walker, Maria Morava, Kerry Corlis and Natalie Broadway.

The play had its world premiere on December 6, 2006 at the world famous Bristol Old Vic and received ecstatic reviews. The director was Tim Sheader (“Twelfth Night” in Regent’s Park), the fight choreographer was Richard Ryan (the movie “Troy”) and the Artistic Director of the theatre was Simon Reade, former Literary Manager of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
