“Home and Heritage: An Asheville Tribute”

November 14 & 15, 2014

Celebrate with songs of hearth and home with a tribute to our men and women in uniform. This concert brings the best of Americana, including the music of Randall Thompson’s Testament of Freedom, Leonard Bernstein’s “Make Our Garden Grow” from Candide, and Randall Stroope’s moving Homeland.

We conclude by celebrating those in uniform with the choir and brass performing A Salute to the Armed Forces!

Tickets for “Home and Heritage” can be purchased on the Asheville Choral Society website at or by calling (828) 232-2060. The cost is $25 for adults, but students will be admitted for free.

(4) The AJBF is pleased to announce that Adam Chernack will be presenting at the November Asheville Jewish Business Forum Meeting.
Chernack is the co-owner of one of Asheville’s newest breweries, Hi-Wire Brewing. Chernack’s brewery stands apart from many others due to its wholesale, bottled distribution, which was distributed from its onset. Chernack and partner plan to keep Hi-Wire Brewing firmly rooted in Asheville!
The growth of the craft beer industry in Asheville will be the topic of a presentation at the monthly meeting of the Asheville Jewish Business Forum on Monday, November 3rd at 5:30 P.M. at Hi-Wire Brewing, 197 Hilliard Avenue in downtown Asheville. The presenter will be Adam Charnack, owner of Hi-Wire Brewing which features its line of Ringmasters Reserve Series of barrel-aged beer. “Our light-hearted circus theme embodies the fun, authenticity, and creativity of this deep-rooted craft,” Adam said. Hi-Wire embraces its craft from top to bottom, from its highly drinkable, hand-crafted brews to its artwork, hand-drawn by a local artist. It lives up to its motto: Serving up magic on the Appalachian Trail.”
Luscious food will again be provided by Sweet Peas Catering. Tuscan Vegetable Soup, Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce (sauce is on the side for those with allergies), Lemony Kale Salad, French Bread and butter and Apple Cake for dessert. Cost for non-members is $15 and for members, $13.
