So I am starting this page to help raise the money I need for my demo and all of the cds. I appreciate any and all donations and thank each and every person that contributes. Blessings to you!

Last Chance to See Don’t Dress for Dinner
Don't Dress for Dinner

 (5) Thanks, Mike Martinell, for this review of this cute play that’s now at Asheville Community Theatre: A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS ***If you like the annual Christmas special, you’ll love this life production that will delight children as well as adults that opens tonight at Asheville Community Theatre. As in every production ACT has found the perfect cast of local actors.
Charlie Brown played by local attorney Craig Justus is the perfect Charlie Brown. Newcomers to Asheville Karen Covington and Mike Yow who delighted us earlier this fall in The Addams Family are just as charming as Sally and Shermy. The cast is rounded out by the talents of Daniel Hensley as Schroeder, Kyle Fitzsimmon as Linus, Tara Theodossis as Lucy, Candice Owen as Snoopy , Zac Ball as Pigpen, Cary Nichols as Freida, Katie Turner as Violet and Susan Lawrence as Patty.

What is enjoyable about the live production is you feel like your watching something totally different then the TV special. You’ll also enjoy a few sing a long Christmas carols.

As a special treat for the kids there is a special guest star just waiting for them to sit on his lap after the show in the lobby.
Note: I already saw a preview performance of the above and enjoyed it. You will, too, especially if you have children or grandchildren. Check next week’s issue for pictures.

(8) At White Horse Black Mountain:

On Sunday December 7th,
we present our first annual  traditional
CELTIC YULEFEST
celebration with music, singing, dancing, and more.    CAROLINA CEILI will provide the music.   A portion of the proceeds from that show will benefit the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry in their efforts to provide food, clothing, heat, and other needs for those in the community.
On Thursday December 11th,
we host our fifth annual BOX AND BEER event.  This is a free community event.  Instead of paying an admission fee simply bring a box (or bag) for non-perishable food items to donate to the Swannanoa Valley Christian Ministry.   You’ll be treated to the music of The Mudlarks.
On Thursday Dec 18th, we’ll host a benefit for DAVID CODY and his family.   David is a multi-talented musician who makes his home here in the Swannanoa Valley.   He’s a skilled carpenter, craftsman, roofer and all-around handyman who supports his family through his hands.  In October, he severely damaged his fingers in an accident at work.  Surgery was required and he’s undergoing a length recovery.  During this time he’s unable to work. David is without insurance.  Rising medical bills and no way to generate income have left David in a tough spot.   So friends and neighbors are coming to gather to help with a musical benefit event.
CHRISTMAS EVE AT WHITE HORSE
The community is invited to our annual  free Christmas Eve gathering at White Horse at 6:30pm on Dec 24th.   Bob and Kim (and others) will share music and we’ll have a sing-a-long of carols.   Joshua Messick will also share songs of the season on his Hammered Dulcimer.
It’s a wonderful time of coming together as a community and we hope you’ll attend.
HOLIDAY GIFT CERTIFICATES
Many of you have inquired about purchasing White Horse gift certificates to give to friends and family.   We’re thrilled that you want to share the “White Horse experience” with others.
To purchase Gift Certificates call 828-669-0816
or simply stop by White Horse.
