(2) August 2015-newsletter from Zuzu Welsh
A lot of things coming up this summer. Check the calendar below, or at our website (www.zuzuwelshmusic.com) . July was another wild and busy month. We rocked out The Root Bar on July 3rd to open the Independence Day weekend, then I played at Jack Of The Wood on July 7th, we played at The Social on July 14th (and got booked back the next three Tuesdays – 21st, 28th and the 4th of August!), kicked out some serious jams July 17th at Brewskies in Fairview (love them, they were one of our first gigs and have consistently booked us back, and we will always go there to play when they want us to), a new stop – Innovation Brewery in Sylva – on July 18th, and then The Bywater Bar in Asheville Sunday afternoon July 19th as part of the Brother Wolf Animal Rescue fund-raiser. We are looking forward to returning there on August 7th! Then we hit the Social on July 21, Town Pump (returning to the scene of the filming of our NC Weekend segment in February!), and The Valley Music & Cook House on July 25th. We will revisit The Social on July 28th and then roll to Lakeland, florida for our August 1 date at the awesome Music Ranch, there in front of my old hometown friends.
Looking into August, we have the show in Lakeland, and then we are playing August 4th at The Social, August 7th at The Bywater, August 8th we have a private engagement, August 15th we arep laying again unplugged at the Floyd Country Store in Floyd, VA and that evening, from 8-11 we are playing at Frog Ogles Deli in Independence, VA. We close out the month at the Inaugural The Valley Music & Cook House Blues Festival, along with Miranda Clark, The Lowdown, Hurricane Bob, Andrew Scotchie & The River Rats and Stolen Hearts featuring Pam Taylor & Robert Johnson, Jr. Advance ticket ordering is recommended, and can be done here:
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day of the show, and there are also some vendor spaces available for $25 per. The show is an all-ages event, there will be food on site from Avery’s Hot Dogs (dogs, burgers and BBQ, including vegan options), wine and beer from The Valley Music & Cook House, and possibly some items from their kitchen. Merchandise will be available from all of the bands, and it promises to be a great time by the river.
